This painting is inspired by the special bond between a little girl, Hailey, and her blue bear, BlueBlue. BlueBlue was discovered while Hailey was rummaging through her grandma's old toys one summer day. Her eyes caught a glimpse of a beautiful blue bear that seemed to be calling out to her. She knew in her heart that they were meant to be together forever. From that day on, BlueBlue became Hailey's constant companion, and they were inseparable. They went everywhere together, and Hailey felt so happy to have someone to share her love of blue with. Through this painting, there is a sense of nostalgia and it aims to remind viewers of the joy that comes from finding something or someone special in life.

‘Wally, The Walrus Who Accidentally Sunk Some Boats’ is inspired by a true story about a travelling walrus who sunk and damaged some boats during its rest-stop at the Isles of Scilly, England, before it returned to its Arctic home weeks after.

“The Beatles’ Yellow Submarine has always been one of my favourite Beatles’ songs. This is why yellow submarines can be spotted in a number of my work including ‘Big Blue Whale’. The song is perfectly written as a children’s song where there is joy, happiness and hope, and everyone gets to sail through the seas of dreams. The reality however is that not everyone gets to live in the yellow submarine; the big blue whale for instance, because the submarine was never built or designed to fit a big blue whale.
